Fine motor skills are developed from gross motor skills

Children need to develop the larger muscles, proximal  muscles (trunk and shoulder) in order to efficiently control their hands and fingers

Muscle groups should work together for proper execution

Development of GROSS MOTOR skills is foundational to the development of FINE MOTOR skills
